I know I took care of him the best way I could, but I still feel like I have let him down, due to his commitment to a nursing home.

While at the nursing home, he had several falls, and the last fall broke his hip again. He needed emergency surgery to repair the damage. But since the cancer treatment, his healing powers are basically non-existent. The surgery wound did not heal properly, and he got a life threatening infection inside his hip. He had surgery to clear the infection, and subsequent rounds of antibiotics. Since then, he had a blood clot develop in his lung, and had to taken to the hospital again

My Dad is a Retired U.S. Marine of 42 years, retiring as a CWO-4. He also served in Desert Storm in 90/91. And from 1970 to now, served as my Personal Hero and Dad to four children.

During his lifetime, he operated his own business in radio, while balancing his home life with U.S. Marine Reserves. He has had poor health since serving in Desert Storm. He purchased his house that he currently owns around 2004, and got a mortgage.

His health gradually declined thru those years, and I, (his son) moved back in with him to take day to day care of him and the house. He fell and broke his hip, and had major surgery to fix it... and has had prostate cancer and treatment to save his life around 5 years ago. Most recently, about 3 years ago, he fell and broke his back and had to have surgery again. The surgery was unsuccessful, and he had to have another surgery to do further repairs. He ended up having a cardiac arrest while on the table, which caused a brain bleed, stroke, and dementia due to the surgery. He came back home and I took as good of care as I possibly could of him, shuttling him to doctor's appointments, and scheduling in home care nurse appointments, but it soon became apparent, that he needed skilled nursing home care in a facility.

Over the recent months, his mental status has gone down hill, and his dementia has gotten worse. Last Monday, he was rushed from the VA Home he is currently in, to the ER with a fever, and low respirations. The hip infection has come back, and he cannot have the surgery. The doctors say there is nothing else that can be done for him.

As I type this, I am crying so hard for my Dad. He has been placed in hospice care for his end of days, and is dying of his injury and sepsis.

His house, that I am currently still living in, has $128,000 still left on the mortgage. When he dies, the bank will take the house and put it up for sale. Not only will I lose my precious Dad, but he and I will lose the house and everything in it. I am Praying and Begging God for relief from this. I am scared to be homeless, and do not want to lose his house.

Please, Please, I am asking if anyone can help me by sending a gift of $1.00, $20.00 or $1000, to my Go Fund Me, or just simply pray for my Dad, me, and our situation, however you can help, I would be GREATLY forever in your debt! I pray that God will make a way for me and my Dad. I ask God that the mortgage be paid in full. I have gone thru all of my savings and have nothing left.
