MCI MC9 Bus Conversion Page
Welcome to my MCI MC9 Bus Conversion Page. Being a professional musician, I have traveled far and wide on many different tour buses, and soon found myself saying,"Someday,... I'll have a bus of my own..."
Well, considering how much converted tour buses go for now a days, from around 200,000 to 1.2 million dollars, owning a bus seemed out of reach for me, unless I purchased an older bus and converted it myself. Well, after much saving, and much thought, that "Someday" is FINALLY HERE!

I began by looking online, and seeing that a lot of people were converting old school buses. They were quite nice, but not the look I was going for. I wanted an actual 40 foot bus, that looked like a tour bus on the outside as well as on the inside.
After looking online at several possibilities, I settled on this 1982 MCI MC9 Bus. Partly because of the price range, and that it was in the same state I lived in. Below, are pictures of the bus as it came from the factory. A 40 foot, 49 seat passenger bus with a bathroom in the back, Detroit 8V71 Engine, and entertainment system, in the form of 4 TV's, with DVD player.
